Single sentences and a little sexism

This program is ok. It has standard features and a nice layout. I havent encountered any bugs and using it has helped improve my typing. Two complaints: 1) The typed phrases are limited to one or two sentences, so typing speed varies quite a bit from one to the next, and the resulting data is a little less helpful than it would be if it were possible to type several paragraphs at a time. 2) One of the proverbs this program prompts users to type is "Never leave a woman to do a mans work." So 1950s. Its a sexist aphorism and it has no place in a teaching tool. Its offensive (even to a guy like me).

Great practice

One of the best apps available for improving your speed and accuracy, considering price and the welcomed simplicity of the interface. Would be nice to practice on paragraphs, or be able to enter your own practice content. Minor quibble: words are in British localized English. May be a bit of an annoyance for the Yankees among us.

Works fine, but limited usefulness

The app works fine for its intended use and the functionality implemented is well thought out. However, it does not go much farther than the alphanumeric characters, leaving completely out all punctuations and special chars (!@# up to {}[] etc.) The developer (who responded very promptly) honestly stated that he has little interest into adding this functionality, so this app remains at best of very limited usefulness, just for people starting out on learning ten-finger typing: to get any real benefit, you will need to purchase a "serious" typing app that covers all the functionality. Personally, I wish Id known beforehand and that the developer had been more upfront in the description of the app, as I would have not purchased it (I already have mastery of alphanumeric typing) so Im hoping others will find this helpful too.

great app

i need to start using this app more often

Need much longer blocks of text

I would not call this a typing tutor, so much as a typing exerciser. The lessons are just not long enough. There needs to be some solid and varied blocks of text. Also it would be helpful if there were come way to import your own blocks of text for practice.

Great app, but it needs more languages

This app is greaat. It reallu made my typing faster even though English isn’t my 1st language. However, it really needs ,more languages, such as Arabic.

Good simple typing tutor, a little costly

Pros: - Good simple, intuitive interface — fast & easy to use - Unlimited lessons (they’re auto-generated) Cons: - Reporting of speed over time works oddly (e.g. if I’ve done 30 lessons, it’ll show me my speed on the 1st 18, then skip 19-29 and show me #30) - A little expensive for what you get

Its awesome

Its fantastic, and to my mind, worth 10 bucks, but most others seem to disagree on the price. Ten bucks is a paltry investment when it comes to learning to touch type. Im already faster, and i just bought it last week. There is no magic involved, only good practicing habits.

humm

Is good, but I believe the price against the app is not enough worthy!!!

Best typing app out there, hands down.

My only request to the developer is to implement an additional lesson for special characters. It has typing for numbers, which is great. However I am a computer science major and I do alot of programming which uses the special characters to the right and top row. So commas, brackets, +, =, (, ), *, &, %, !, <, > are frequently used and would make this the perfect app, for me. It also has lots of data so you know what your weak keys are, allowing you to target focus to improve your weakest point. BUY IT! Tim

Definitely The Best Typing Tutor

I’d love the ability to change the length of each exercise to build endurance, at least for word lessons. And a lesson that pulls from a live news feed would be fun too since multi-tasking is always more fun.

For Beginners Only

The app is really designed for beginners as there is no practice for symbols or most non alphanumeric keys. To really touch type, you need to learn those keys too and the app is incomplete from that point of view.

doesn’t do special characters?

am i missing something? there are no lessons on learning special characters like $, *,}, etc. can’t really call this a complete typing tutor.
